Early Life and Club Career

Franz Beckenbauer was born in Munich, Germany, on September 11, 1945. He began his professional football career with Bayern Munich in 1964 and quickly became one of the most influential players in the team's history. Beckenbauer helped Bayern Munich win four Bundesliga titles, three European Cups, and one Intercontinental Cup during his time with the club.

International Career

Beckenbauer also had a successful international career with the West German national team. He made his debut for the team in 1965 and went on to play in four World Cups, winning the tournament in 1974. Beckenbauer captained the West German team to victory in the 1972 European Championship and was named the tournament's best player.

Managerial Career

After retiring as a player, Beckenbauer began a successful managerial career. He managed Bayern Munich to three Bundesliga titles and one European Cup before taking over as manager of the West German national team. Beckenbauer led the team to victory in the 1990 World Cup and was named the FIFA World Coach of the Year in 1991.
